Regional Men's Conference

February 24th, 2018

Every one of us journeys through life with a certain perspective. Sometimes we allow ourselves to focus on our past and allow it to define us. Perhaps you live in the present and get consumed with distractions, work, or hobbies. Some of us struggle with the future and play the “when” game - When I graduate… When I get that promotion… But how would your life change if you had a different focus? A Biblical perspective? What if you lived out your daily life with eternity in mind? Join us for this one day conference as we learn more about what it means to allow the past, present, and future to be influenced by eternity!

Rise with the Guys

March 10th, 2018

Despite the message our culture tries to drive home, men are not designed to be islands. Rise with the Guys is a monthly large group event that provides men of all ages the opportunity to get together for an hour of food, a speaker, and discussion.

Join us on Saturday, February 10th at 7:30am for our monthly large group opportunity for men. Our featured speaker will be David Tinklenberg. He has undergone a double-lung transplant and has a powerful testimony of how God has worked in his life mightily since then. A catered breakfast will be provided, so please RSVP in order for us to have enough food.

Write Your Story Women's Conference

March 17th, 2018

We all have a story to share—a story to tell. God has a unique story that is written on our hearts. All of our experiences, both challenges and triumphs, are things that God can use to benefit those around us and point them to Himself.

Join us on March 17 to hear the story of how God uses our everyday selves, and experiences to make an impact for His Glory. We will explore our own stories too as there will be time for reflection after the speakers for writing and journaling.

The Speakers for the Conference include:

Elise Knobloch, the author of "Enough-Finding Abundant Life In a World Striving For More." Elise writes to figure out what she's thinking. She seeks to encourage others to meet God in the common, ordinary, everyday activities of their lives and to laugh at God's ever-present sense of humor.

Michelle Heisel is the author of “The Heart of it All” series. Her passion is to bring heart into a dark and hurting world while encouraging people to ponder, to ask questions, and to pursue the truth of who they are and why they are here. "Pillar’s Fire", the first book in the series and "Wormwood’s Water" is the second book in the series. Her love for people begged her to write the story. And her desire to use her talents to revive and restore our world for the good of all drove her to share these novels with the world.

LuAnn Berkhof will share how looking back at her life she sees how God took every chapter - even the chapters that seemed to lead to death - and turned them into something good. Her story is meant to give you courage to see your life - the good, the bad, and even the in between as a story, written by God, for the purpose of shining a light on his goodness.

And Jonni Sliver, from the Miriam Infant Home in Brazil, part of the AFLC World Missions, will share that one of the goals of the orphanage is for the children to know that God is the author of their story as they provide love, encouragement, and hope to the children in their care. Jonni was commissioned at the 2010 Annual Conference and has been a longtime member of Emmaus Lutheran Church (AFLC), Bloomington, MN. She is a graduate of Bethany Fellowship School of Missions and has served in Brazil from 1988 to 2004. In 2011 she was called to return to Brazil after caring for her ill mother and began serving once again at the Miriam Infant Home.
